The Power of Magnesium
Did you know that roughly 50% of Americans are magnesium deficient? Yes, it’s true. Now let me just preface this by saying that I am not a medical physician, nor do I have any expertise in the world of medicine. However, studies show this number to be true and one thing I do do, is a lot of research.
Magnesium is such an important mineral for our bodies and helps with many bodily functions including muscle + nerve function, blood pressure regulation + bone density. Magnesium also helps with converting Vitamin D into an active form. Which we all know most of us are Vitamin D deficient as well.
Why am I mentioning all of this? Because it’s important to note that all of our bath soaks contain magnesium chloride flakes which have many benefits. Especially when absorbed through a transdermal effect when added to a bath. There are also some of us with poor/dysfunctional guts and do not properly absorb all of the vitamins and minerals we consume in our diets. Because of this, transdermal absorption may work better for some of us. Now, I am not saying that our bath soaks contain high enough amounts of magnesium to relinquish you of your deficiencies. However, it can certainly help aide and support in those efforts.
Now what is the difference between magnesium chloride [flakes] vs magnesium sulfate [epsom salt]? Well, it’s all in the rate of absorption within the body. Because it is wholly soluble, magnesium chloride will efficiently absorb when exposed to the skin whereas magnesium sulfate is more rapidly excreted. Both having their benefits and soothing properties. Studies show it can also be beneficial and safe for pregnant women to soak in magnesium bath soaks.
All in all, our mineral bath soaks not only smell and look beautiful, they are also beneficial for health and wellness too!
